Web Analytics Expert

Location: Millbrae, CA. Please apply by sending us an email to jobs@funnelenvy.com

Are you experienced with web analytics? Can you go beyond creating reports and spreadsheets and find conversion opportunities in the data?

We might have a great opportunity for you with FunnelEnvy.

About Us

We’re a small, rapidly growing Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) firm based out of Millbrae. We focus on getting more of our clients’ web traffic to convert to customers through:

  • UX & Design

  • Web Analytics

  • A/B, split and multivariate Testing

We’re looking for someone with serious web analytics skills who wants to help us turn quantitative evidence into testable ideas and help us deliver on client projects. This is a very hands on role with a wide variety of skills and tools, so we don’t expect someone to come in being an expert in all of them (although if you are you should definitely contact us).

Typical deliverables that you will be responsible for:

  • Google Analytics (and potentially other analytics platforms) configuration and management per best practices

  • Coordinating tags and tracking parameter implementations.

  • Assisting with website behavior and customer experience analysis through insights from analytics.

  • Developing weekly and monthly reports (Google Analytics, AdWords, spreadsheets).

  • Creating and managing management dashboards.

  • Work with our team and participate in creation of A/B tests (from hypothesis creation to influencing creatives to identifying success metrics) and post test analysis.

The sort of experience and background that you have:

  • Significant experience with Google Analytics (certification is a plus).

  • Experience with Google AdWords management and reporting (certification is a plus).

  • Implementation and management of analytics tags with a tag management solution (e.g. Google Tag Manager)

  • Experience in advanced web analytics methodologies such as experimentation and testing, competitive analysis, surveys and market research.

  • Using strong analytical skills to provide insights as well as recommendations for changes and convince key decision makers of business benefits of the proposed solutions.

  • Ability to analyze customer behavior using available data to influence ideas for high value website changes.

The things that we absolutely need in a candidate:

  • Excellent communication skills – everyone lists this as a requirement, but in our case we’re looking for someone who can not only communicate remotely with the rest of the team but who can work closely with clients as well.

  • Willingness to roll up your sleeves – This is a small (but rapidly growing) operation, so this isn’t a role for professional managers.

  • Passion for learning new things – We hit a relatively broad base of skillsets in our work, so if you just want to focus on the one thing you do well then this might not be the position for you. Ideally you’ll be able to teach us things as well.

  • Willingness to take (calculated) risks – We’re an entrepreneurial firm and absolutely encourage intelligent risk taking.

  • Value Evidence over Opinion – At FunnelEnvy it’s far less important to be right than it is to get it right.

  • Genuine enthusiasm for the problems we’re solving – Life is too short to do anything you’re not excited about.

As a bonus, if you have experience with any of the following we’d really like to talk to you:

  • Javascript – Even if you’re not an expert.

  • Any major A/B Testing platform – For example Optimizely or Visual Website Optimizer

  • Other Analytics platforms such as Google Analytics, KISSMetrics, MixPanel.

  • Strong understanding of SEO best practices.

  • Project management experience.

  • Consulting / agency experience.
